To Whom it may concern,

Siemens and Tito Group Limited trading as Railtechnz have been working together for a number of years now dating back to 2010 when the Waikanae Signalling Upgrade Project in Wellington was undertaken. Originally the work was with Westinghouse (which became Invensys) which was subsequently bought by Siemens in 2015. The projects undertaken with Railtechnz have been signalling upgrades for KiwiRail in key areas of their freight and passenger lines across the north Island.

These works generally involved:

  • Installing and Terminating signalling, power and communications cabling;
  • Installing and Terminating equipment rooms,power cabinets and trackside location cabinets;
  • Installing signal masts and Terminating signal heads;
  • Installing and Terminating Axle counter and track circuit equipment;
  • Installing and Terminating Level Crossing equipment;
  • Terminating Point Machines;
  • Installing earth grids;
  • Cable jointing;
  • Testing and certifying of electrical Installations to NZ Regulations; The projects we have commissioned together so far are:
  • Waikanae Resignalling Project (Wellington) – December 2010
  • Auckland Resignalling Project – Onehunga Branch Line -2011
  • Petone and Porirua Signalling Renewal Project (Wellington) – October 2013 and April 2014
  • Awakaponga Resignalling Project (Whakatane) – September 2014
  • Te Rapa Resignalling Project (Hamilton) – Feburary 2015
  • Mount Maunganui Resignalling Project (Tauranga) – November 2016

It has been a great pleasure to work with Malcolm and his staff. They are a close nit group of people and are extremely reliable and hard working. There has always been a moto with Malcolm of just getting the work done when faced with challenges and adversaties. Some of these projects involved working away from their families for extended stays and this was never a problem with Railtechnz.
